Is SAP an accredited ASP?
SAP is on the list, but check that its service covers Business One.
- "SAP Middle East & North Africa LLC" appears on the MoF list with accreditation no. 197202.
- SAP's announcement of 7 Apr 2026 names SAP Document and Reporting Compliance as the UAE solution. It does not mention SAP Business One or SMEs.
- SAP's UAE knowledge-base articles (3729281, 3780764 and 3780783) cover SAP ERP and S/4HANA, not Business One.
- SAP Help has a page titled "Integrating Peppol Exchange with SAP Business One" under SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, cloud edition. It shows that an SAP-native route exists, but the page could not be opened, so its UAE coverage is not confirmed.
- SAP partners say SAP Business One "does not natively" send invoices to a UAE ASP and needs a connector (SEIDOR). Accredited ASPs such as Flick Network (no. 138271) sell SAP Business One add-ons.
What this means in practice: ask your SAP Business One partner, in writing, which route you will use. The choice is either SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (Peppol Exchange) via SAP MENA, or a third-party accredited ASP add-on. Get the cost, the supported B1 version and the timeline.
Settings and data to prepare in SAP Business One
| Where | What to prepare |
|---|---|
| Company Details | Legal name as on the trade licence, TRN, TIN (first 10 digits of the TRN), address with emirate, local currency AED, and trade licence number |
| Business Partner master | Legal name, Federal Tax ID (TRN), TIN or Peppol ID (scheme 0235) in a field the add-on maps, bill-to address with emirate, and B2B, B2G or B2C type. Use a UDF if the add-on needs one |
| Item master | Tax group (VAT code), a clean description, and UoM codes mapped to standard unit codes |
| Tax codes | Map each UAE VAT code to a PINT AE tax category (standard, zero-rated, exempt, out of scope or reverse charge) |
| Document numbering | Use unique series per document type and do not reuse numbers |
| Exchange rates | Keep a daily rate table so that AED VAT amounts are shown on foreign-currency invoices. The UAE validation requires the VAT total in AED when the invoice is in another currency |
| A/R Credit Memos | Make a reason mandatory (UDF if needed). Reason codes are mandatory in PINT AE v1.0.1 |
| Transaction flags | Agree with the add-on how to mark free-zone, margin-scheme and deemed-supply cases |
Step-by-step preparation
- Now: confirm your SAP Business One version, patch level and database (SQL or HANA). Many add-ons require a current feature pack.
- Nov 2026: ask your partner for a written proposal comparing (a) SAP Document and Reporting Compliance / Peppol Exchange and (b) at least one accredited ASP add-on. Check every provider's number on the MoF list.
- Nov to Dec 2026: clean up the Business Partner, Item and Tax Code data listed above. Create the UDFs the add-on needs.
- Jan 2027: sign with your ASP, then appoint it in EmaraTax (open your taxable person, go to E-Invoicing, select the ASP and submit).
- Feb 2027: install the add-on through the Add-on Manager on a test company database first. Configure the ASP credentials and field mapping.
- By 31 Mar 2027: confirm that EmaraTax shows the ASP as appointed and that your Peppol ID is registered.
- Apr to Jun 2027: test A/R invoices, A/R credit memos, down-payment invoices, foreign-currency invoices and zero-rated invoices. Check that the status returns to SAP Business One.
- 1 Jul 2027: go live. Assign one person each day to watch for rejected documents.
